THE HEART BEHIND THE FEE:
The discomfort around charging for this work isn’t because it lacks value. It’s because it’s sacred. When something feels holy, our instinct is often to give it away, like loaves and fishes. But Scripture doesn’t equate free with faithful.
“The worker deserves his wages” (Luke 10:7), and “those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel” (1 Corinthians 9:14). Paul didn’t say this sheepishly. He said it plainly. Not as greed, but as order.
I am not charging for your testimony. Your story belongs to God. What you are investing in is the discernment required to help shape it, the ability to hold your story safely, the time, presence, editing, prayer, and emotional labor involved.
